Legal AI AiLex analyzes Netflix drama The Glory to demonstrate case review capabilities

Legal tech startup A2D2 has launched AiLex, an AI tool designed to analyze evidentiary records rather than just searching legal precedents. Unlike conventional tools, AiLex ingests massive volumes of documents—including indictments, financial records, and chat logs—to build case summaries and map relationships between people and evidence. To demonstrate its capabilities, A2D2 applied the AI to the Netflix drama "The Glory," where the system successfully identified inconsistencies in character statements by cross-referencing them with physical evidence.

The technology utilizes proprietary memory management and knowledge graph technology to process thousands of pages efficiently. This allows lawyers to quickly identify critical issues and important materials without manually reading every page. A2D2 has also introduced agent capabilities, allowing the AI to answer specific strategic questions, such as identifying favorable witnesses or locating evidence of coercion.

CEO Jang Il-jun emphasizes that AiLex is intended to augment rather than replace lawyers. By reducing the time required for record review and paperwork, the tool enables lawyers to handle more cases at a lower cost, potentially increasing access to legal services. To ensure privacy, AiLex operates in an isolated environment where user-uploaded records are not used for model training.
