Known-date reminder tool

Legal Deadline Reminder Planner

Create advance reminders for a date you have already confirmed.

Enter a deadline exactly as provided by your attorney, a court, an agency, a signed agreement, or another authoritative source. The tool subtracts ordinary calendar days to create reminders; it does not determine, verify, extend, or recalculate the legal deadline.

Planning stays on your device
This is not a legal deadline calculator. Do not use it to decide when a claim, appeal, response, notice, filing, payment, or court paper is due. Legal timing can depend on jurisdiction, service method, holidays, local rules, court orders, tolling, and individual facts. Confirm the actual deadline and any required filing time with a qualified attorney or the issuing authority.
Browser-only planning: AttorneyHelp.org does not receive the label, date, or source you enter. If you download and import the calendar file, your calendar provider will handle that copy under its own privacy practices.
Confirm first

Use a date from an authoritative source

  • Copy the date exactly from the source.
  • Ask whether a specific time or time zone applies.
  • Confirm what must be completed—not merely started—by then.
  • Create enough lead time for review and unexpected problems.

Step 2Choose advance reminders

These are ordinary calendar-day reminders. They do not adjust for weekends, holidays, filing hours, service rules, or court closures.

Advance reminder dates

Calendar reminders can fail or be overlooked. Verify that imported events and alerts appear correctly, keep independent records, and follow the instructions of your attorney, court, agency, or agreement.

Why this tool requires a confirmed date

Courts can have national, state, and local procedural rules, and a particular order may set a different schedule. Statutes of limitations can also depend on the type of claim, the parties, when a fact was discovered, tolling rules, and other circumstances. Subtracting a generic number of days from an event cannot safely resolve those questions.

The United States Courts publishes federal rules alongside links to local court rules. California’s self-help guidance similarly warns that statutes of limitations are fact-specific and can be difficult to calculate. Those are reasons to use this planner only after the actual date has been confirmed.
