Wordsmith has secured a $14 million Series B extension to expand its presence in North America and the financial services sector.

Summary

Wordsmith has successfully raised a $14 million extension to its Series B funding round, led by Intact Private Capital with participation from existing investors Highland Europe and Index Ventures. FT Ventures has also joined as a shareholder. This new capital brings the company's total funding to $114 million, following a $70 million Series B round completed approximately two months ago.

The company plans to utilize the additional funds to deepen its presence in North America and strengthen its footprint within the financial services and insurance sectors. Wordsmith currently serves over 500 clients, including major organizations such as BT, FT, Sage, Starling, Canva, and Safelite.

CEO and co-founder Ross McNairn explained that Wordsmith provides the necessary infrastructure for legal teams to handle work internally using AI agents for routine tasks. This allows lawyers to focus on judgment-based work, ultimately reducing reliance on expensive outside counsel and demonstrating the legal department's value to the broader business.
