Luminance Unveils ‘Luna Crescent’, the Vertical AI Model Powering Contract Intelligence with Market-leading Accuracy and Speed

Legal Reader
Luminance has launched Luna Crescent, a specialized vertical AI model designed for contract intelligence, offering superior accuracy and speed compared to general-purpose models.

Summary

Luminance has introduced Luna Crescent, the first model in its proprietary Luna series, which is purpose-built for contract work and powers the company's contract intelligence capabilities. Developed over more than a decade, Luna Crescent has been fine-tuned on a dataset of over 220 million verified legal documents, enabling it to interpret legal language with greater precision than general-purpose models. In blind evaluations, legal experts preferred Luna Crescent for identifying complex contractual concepts and extracting key information. The model achieves 5% higher accuracy on contract understanding tasks and generates answers up to 4x faster than generalist tools. Luminance also developed ContractIQ Bench, a proprietary benchmark of over 180,000 data points, to validate the model's performance. As Luna Crescent is deployed within Luminance's own AI stack, customers gain greater clarity over how their legal AI is built and governed. The model is embedded across Luminance's contract intelligence features, improving the speed and accuracy with which customers identify risk and surface commercial insight. Luminance's platform of Legal-Grade agents can now take context-aware action across the contract lifecycle, from review and negotiation to post-signature management.
