Legatics Data Rooms Launches as VDR Alternative

Artificial Lawyer Legal Technology Blog
Legatics introduces integrated Data Rooms to replace separate VDRs, offering secure, audited document sharing within its transaction platform.

Summary

Legatics has launched a new “Data Rooms” feature that sits inside its existing transaction management platform, providing secure sharing, granular permissions, version control and complete audit trails. The move is positioned as a simpler, more cost‑effective alternative to traditional virtual data rooms, which are often complex to implement and priced for large‑scale deals.

Early adopters such as White & Case, Schoenherr and Hill Dickinson are already using the solution across a range of transaction types. Legatics argues that its purpose‑built tools give lawyers the structured file organisation and reliable audit trail they need from day one, without the overhead of a general‑purpose collaboration platform.

The Data Rooms integrate directly with iManage and NetDocuments and come at a time when legal tech costs, including token usage for AI solutions, are under scrutiny. Legatics also highlighted upcoming Legal Innovators conferences in London, New York and California, where the company will showcase its new offering.
