UnClaimedX launches Pass Down, a digital inheritance platform to help Indian families organize and claim financial assets after a user's death.

Summary

UnClaimedX, a Bengaluru‑based fintech startup, has introduced Pass Down, a digital inheritance platform aimed at solving India’s silent inheritance crisis, where over ₹1.84 lakh crore of financial assets remained unclaimed in 2025. Inspired by founder Sandeep P Gaonkar’s personal experience during a hospitalization, the company surveyed 86 professionals and found that nearly half had disclosed less than half of their assets to their families and only 19 % had documented their financial information. Pass Down lets users securely organize assets, documents and digital data, assign nominees, and, upon the owner’s death, activates a four‑stage SAFE Protocol before transferring information to beneficiaries. Built on zero‑knowledge encryption so even the company cannot access user data, the platform is being developed by a team with over a decade of enterprise experience each. UnClaimedX also plans to create an institutional layer for banks, insurers and legal firms to streamline claims and reduce fraud, with a public launch slated for July 2026 and a seed round underway to support growth.
