TruLegal has introduced a free Legal AI Self-Assessment designed to help legal job seekers document their hands-on experience with over 60 AI platforms, such as Harvey, CoCounsel, and ChatGPT. The assessment allows candidates to rate their proficiency across 11 key legal disciplines, including legal research, drafting, eDiscovery, and compliance. The process takes less than three minutes and integrates results into TruLegal candidate profiles for employer review.

According to TruLegal Founder and CEO Jared Coseglia, the tool aims to bridge the gap between candidates claiming AI experience and employers' needs for verifiable skills. Sandy Scott, AI Enablement & Systems Integration Manager at TruLegal, noted that the assessment focuses on scoring confidence and providing meaningful conversation topics for interviews rather than testing theoretical knowledge.

Beyond individual career benefits, TruLegal plans to use aggregated, anonymized data from these assessments to publish market intelligence reports on AI hiring trends and workforce readiness within the legal industry.
