The UK Ministry of Justice has introduced the advisory AI Growth Labs, a new sandbox aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of AI products and services by assisting innovators in navigating regulatory frameworks. The legal sector is the first to participate, driven by strong industry demand and the government's recognition that law is at the forefront of the AI revolution. With 65% of law firms and 79% of in-house legal teams now having an AI strategy or responsible use policy, the sandbox brings together key regulatory bodies like the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC), the Legal Services Board (LSB), and the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). This cross-regulatory approach is designed to unlock responsible innovation in the industry.
