Anthropic launches Claude for Legal with connections to 20 platforms and 12 practice-area plug-ins

Anthropic launched Claude for Legal on Tuesday, significantly upgrading its legal plug-in by connecting the AI assistant to 20 widely used legal software platforms and rolling out 12 practice-area specific tools. The expansion covers the full legal workflow, including document management (iManage, NetDocuments), contract work (Definely, Docusign), M&A and transactions (Box, Datasite), e-discovery (Consilio, Everlaw, Relativity), and legal research (Legal Data Hunter, Midpage, Trellis). Major platforms integrated include Harvey's legal AI assistant, Thomson Reuters' CoCounsel Legal, Westlaw, and Practical Law. The 12 new plug-ins target commercial law, corporate law, employment law, privacy, intellectual property, and litigation, with separate tools for law students and legal clinics. Claude is now fully integrated with Microsoft's product suite and connects to access-to-justice tools like Courtroom5, Descrybe, and the Free Law Project's caselaw database.
