Summary

RELX Group, owner of LexisNexis Legal & Professional, has announced an offer to acquire Doctrine, a France-based legal AI platform known for advanced tools in legal search, analysis, drafting, and practitioner workflows, including Flow Litigate and Flow Counsel. The proposed acquisition is intended to accelerate enhanced, trusted, and intuitive legal AI workflow solutions in France and across key European jurisdictions such as Germany, Spain, and Italy, helping customers improve productivity and outcomes.

Sean Fitzpatrick, CEO of Global Legal at LexisNexis Legal & Professional, said Doctrine’s customer-centric innovation, powerful platform, and expert talent complement LexisNexis’s global capabilities in authoritative legal AI workflows. Guillaume Carrère, CEO of Doctrine, stated that joining RELX is the natural next chapter to deliver faster access to richer capabilities for customers and to invest further in the technical and product excellence the team has built.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Paris, Doctrine combines a comprehensive corpus of case law, legislation, and regulatory content for civil law jurisdictions with AI-powered research, drafting, and analytics tools, serving 27,000 legal professionals daily across France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. The proposed acquisition remains subject to applicable information and consultation procedures with employee representative bodies and customary regulatory consents, with terms undisclosed, and both companies will continue to operate separately in the interim.
