Proofpoint lets SMBs call on agents to stay compliant

Proofpoint has launched the Nuclei Discovery & Archive Suite, a cloud-native platform designed to address the compliance and archiving needs of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Recognizing that SMBs often struggle with high compliance demands and limited resources, the suite provides support for over 80 digital communication channels without requiring dedicated compliance teams. The platform’s capabilities were significantly enhanced by Proofpoint’s acquisition of Nuclei in 2023.

The Nuclei Suite offers features like rapid deployment, simple per-user licensing, and 10 GB of pooled archive storage per user and connection, particularly benefiting Microsoft 365 customers by covering archiving needs across various Microsoft applications. A key differentiator is its optional AI-first supervision, which utilizes agent-based analysis to identify risks without the need for complex lexicon creation or ongoing rule maintenance – a significant advantage for organizations with limited IT staff.

Beyond core archiving, the suite integrates with Proofpoint’s Insider Threat Management, provides intuitive search and litigation hold capabilities, and offers data export without additional fees. Proofpoint’s recent acquisitions, including Nuclei, Hornetsecurity, and Acuvity, demonstrate its commitment to expanding its security and compliance offerings, particularly for the SMB market.
