Manchester-based Summize has acquired the assets and staff of Seattle-based InnoLaw Group to bolster its implementation capabilities.

Summary

Manchester-based legal technology firm Summize has acquired the staff and key assets of the Seattle-based InnoLaw Group. This strategic move is designed to integrate InnoLaw's expertise into Summize's implementation wing, addressing the increasing corporate demand for human-led implementation support alongside automated AI contracting services.

While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the acquisition follows a significant £40m fundraising round for Summize. Tom Dunlop, CEO of Summize, noted that bringing InnoLaw's knowledge in-house is a major step toward guaranteeing high-value outcomes for customers. As part of the transition, InnoLaw's chief client officer, Lara Trope, will lead Summize's implementation function, while founder Lucy Bassli will serve as an independent advisor.

Summize operates as a contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform that integrates contract intelligence software into common enterprise tools such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Salesforce.
