SFO E-Discovery Review Update
Summary
The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has provided an update on its review of past e-discovery software, specifically its legacy Autonomy system. In February 2025, the SFO committed to updating the public on the findings of this review, which aimed to identify any material that might cast doubt on the safety of past convictions. The review initially focused on 66 historic conviction cases. As of February 12, 2026, only three cases remain under review. Director of Operations Emma Luxton confirmed that, to date, no material has been found that casts doubt on the safety of any past conviction. The SFO has proactively contacted defendants in these cases to share the findings and review process, and encourages any affected defendants who haven't been contacted to reach out directly.
